Tom Sawyer Park in West Memphis is one of our favorites. I keep wanting to go back as it is just an unusual place. It is nestled on the Mississippi River in in West Memphis, AR just south of Menphis, TN. We enjoyed watching the barges go up and down the river. On foggy mornings you could barely see them and they would be blowing their horns. We loved it. The park is well maintained and we parked on a level concrete pad. The utilities were adequate. On the river concrete pads are $40 and gravel $32 with a Good Sam discount.
In Spring the river floods so it is important to check to make sure that they are open and operating. There are some long term residents, but they are located in another part of the park away from the river.
We didn't use the bath facilities, but Liz used the washers and dryers which were ok, but there was not enough of them to accommodate everyone and it took several trips to find and open machine.
The only reason we haven't stayed again is that we tend to stay in Tunica, MS at the Sam's Town Casino RV park. That is a very nice park too and has the casino as an attraction. Overall, I would rate this park as above average.
